The definition of rehabilitation is: to restore to a condition of good health, and the ability to work.

For me rehabilitating a horse or pony is about returning the horse to a place of equilibrium, mentally and physically. Each horse or pony is treated as an individual. I believe the owner/rider will learn a huge amount about themselves as well as their horse while going through this process. I will initially be looking at certain environmental factors, including: foot balance, musculoskeletal system, saddle, bridle and bit, other tack, training schedule, rider imbalances, lungeing, groundwork, stable, turnout, nutrition. Anything that may have an affect on the horses well being.

Then we will work together and make a plan that suits you and your horse, in moving forward with your horses rehabilitation, addressing all the issues affecting your horse's well being. I will be able to make suggestions of other professionals that would be able to help you in their particular field.

With the use of clicker training we will be able to improve suppleness, balance, lightness and responsiveness.

Rehabilitating a horse/pony is hugely rewarding. It is not something that happens overnight, but takes time. There is nothing better to see a horse and rider happily working together. I have had great pleasure in rehabilitating my horses, which has enabled me to work with clients and their horses. To see the transformation is truly amazing. I hope one day you also have that same feeling.

The Benefits of Stretching:
Regular stretching is a powerful part of any exercise program.

Stretching increases flexibility. Flexible muscles can improve your horses performance.

Stretching improves range of motion of your joints. Good range of motion keeps your horse in better balance.

Stretching improves circulation. Stretching increases blood flow to your horses muscles. Improved circulation can speed recovery after muscle injuries.

Stretching promotes better posture. Frequent stretching keeps your horses muscles from getting tight, allowing him to maintain proper posture and minimize aches and pains.

Stretching can relieve stress. Stretching relaxes the tense muscles that often accompany stress.

Stretching may help prevent injury. Preparing your horses muscles and joints for activity can protect your horse from injury, especially if your horses muscles or joints are tight.
