ABOUT ME
My journey began 36 years ago learning to ride at my local riding school. I then helped out at weekends and holidays. I learnt so much about riding and caring for horses. Although many things stay the same, many more have changed over the years.
I was then able to buy my first horse and have never looked back. I cannot imagine my life without horses.
I was originally interested in all riding club activities and soon realised if I could improve my groundwork then my jumoing would get better.
I was lucky enough to start having lessons with Faye Crouch, whom was shortlisted for the 1988 Olympic dressage team. Once I had sat on one of her horses I was hooked on dressage and training horses.
I spent 6 years travelling to Portugal several times a year, to learn properly about collection. I was so lucky to watch horses being trained from just being backed up to the advanced movements. I clearly remember the first time I sat on a horse and ended up doing piaffe, passage, flying changes and canter pirouettes, I can still smile when I think about it.
In my pursuit of learning as much as possible about horses, you will see below I have attended and passed many courses on various subjects. I am able to bring a huge depth of knowledge and experience.
When I am training a horse and rider I am looking to improve their natural crookedness, balance, suppleness, flexibility, engagement and collection. At the same time maintaining and buidling confidence.
I have completed the following training:
